G Chapman medical and Hospital administration officials Roger g. Cad Ham City medical health of f i c e r civic administrators and a representative of the present private ambulance operators. The advisory committee l established by the task Force would be mainly responsible for establishing and reviewing standards and regulations to maintain a satisfactory level of ambulance service according to councillor Al Ducharme chairman of the ambulance subcommittee of civic finance committee. Recommendations for the task Force came to finance committee from the ambulance subcommittee in a report presented by coun. Ducharme in dependent citizens election committee St. Coun. Ducharme said in an interview later that no refer ence to compensation for the businesses of the existing ambulance Drivers was made in the subcommittee report but that the door to negotiations Between the City and the operators is still open. He said the task Force will be responsible for evaluating the physical assets of the ambulance operators and determining what prices will be paid for the vehicles and equip ment. The suggestion was made during a Winnipeg school meeting which involved discussions with about 20 Home economics teachers then discussions on another matter with High school principals. The Home economics teach is Brief resulted from a dec. 1 letter to the Board from one Eacher which outlined con erns about the Board s policy o allow boys to attend some lome economics classes. The policy provided that no student be denied enrolment r be compelled to enrol in a Ourse on the basis of sex. The policy was effective last March and was implemented in sep Ember. Previously male and female students were provided options in the basis of individual re quests.
