The Centre organized by inner City residents began operating several weeks ago. Brian Teixeira chairman of the Centre s Board said the number of patients enrolled particularly since Jan. 1 has increased however no definite figures will be available until the Centre has determined How Many of its patients intend to use the facility on a permanent basis. Or. Teixeira said the Centre currently employs one part time physician but that a full Lime doctor is expected to be lured soon. Several Hundred people at tended wednesday s reception. 3. The parents asked that the need for the new addition be reviewed and that trustees in Stead consider building an addition to the Bird s Hill school or a new school on the site. Such a new school could be attached to the old one which could be converted to Library music and other similar facilities suggested Vernon Lees who presented the delegation s Brief. The delegation also stated that the parents of the area want conventional classrooms rather than the open area classrooms now planned for the new addition. The delegation presented in formation to the Board com piled from a Survey it conducted in the area. The delegation is scheduled to meet with the Board feb. 26, when a decision is expected on the request. The figures Are contained in a wheat Board report to producers which gives a break Down of the sales picture the International marketing Situa Tion and the transportation problems which plagued the Board from aug. 1, 1973 to oct. 31, 1974. Wheat from producers amounted to 612 million Bush Els Worth about billion. The report said initial pay ments to producers were about billion. That left a surplus of million. Total operating costs were million. After deducting these costs and then allowing for interest earned there was million left for distribution to Farmers in final payments which now Are being made. There were 269 million Bush Els of Barley Worth Mil lion. Initial payments to farm ers amounted to million and left a surplus of Mil operating costs were Ion. Total Given As million. Total exports of wheat and wheat flour under medium term and Long term credit arrangements were 115.2 million bushels this represented Over 25 per cent of Canada s total wheat exports during the year. Shipments of just Over 10 million bushels of Barley were also made under a credit arrangement with Poland. Medium term credit with a repayment period of up to three years is provided by the Canadian wheat Board but the Loans Are guaranteed by the Federal government.
