By Robin list1g Rome Reuter an Ita Lian sexologist has horrified roman catholics Here with a suggestion that the country s prostitutes could be about to invade St. Peter s Basilica. Idea which comes from prof. Giovanni Caletti director of sex education Stu Dies at a Venice Hospital Fol lows the protest Campaign waged by French prostitutes recently and has once again focused attention on the plight of a estimated one million italian Belle i while their French Sisters have gained wide publicity with their Church sit ins and the personal intervention of president v a 1 e r y Giscard d Estwing the italian prostitutes have been watching quietly but with interest. Those French girls have a lot of courage and team milanese Street Walker was quoted As saying recently. But we could never follow their example. Here in Italy everyone thinks Only of her prof. What will we do when they decide to occupy St. Peter s the thought of hundreds of scantily Clad girls taking Over in Christendom s biggest Church the Centre of roman catholicism built on the very spot where St. Peter is said to be buried sent Shivers Down the spines of Many italians. Prostitution As a human and social dilemma has been widely ignored in Italy while civil rights groups concen trate on what they see As More immediate issues such As birth control abortion and sex education legislation. The prostitutes themselves seem to realize that Public opinion has not yet awakened to their problems. A Maga Zine Survey quoted a 23-year old sardinian girl As complaining if we All marched to the main Cathedral Square shouting slogans and carrying placards who would take us some experts however now Are convinced that some form of Legal recognition of the prostitutes social needs is urgently needed. This problem could explode from one moment to the said prof. Caletti. These women who for the most part receive no medical or social benefits whatsoever must be Given some form of according to the left Wing Magazine l espresso which interviewed several prostitutes in Milan on what they thought of their French col leagues protests an italian prostitute s principal worry concerns health care. The one thing we Are most terrified of is said one girl. Most of us go for a medical Check at least once a so far the question of what to do about the growing number of italian prostitutes has received Little Public at Tention. Two years ago an attractive Young Post office worker s i g n o r i n a Titti Sciascia raised much hilarity but Little serious concern when she Al most lost her Job after announcing the formation of a National league for the de Fence of prostitutes. Following the appearance o f newspaper photographs showing her posing almost to tally unc lad the postal ministry issued a statement say ing she was being downgraded from personnel to administrative work because of be Havior incompatible with the decorum of her Csc medical credit cards sir it seems to me that if a group of people forms an organization whose Aims in clude infiltration of an established political party to further their own selfish ends then they must be exposed As a political party. 1 have Concrete proof that the civic Reform coalition is a Politi Cal party hanging on the apron strings of the new democratic party at the civic level. It is about time the electorate is made aware that the Wool is being pulled Over their eyes. Hector Winnipeg sir with the implementation of Universal medicare in Canada the great majority of physicians have Little Choice at the present time to Bill the provincial health care insurance Agency for medical services rendered to their patients. Inevitably the of adage he who pays the Piper Calls the tune is proving to be True and government is Al ready beginning to dictate to physicians in respect to fees schedules of benefits extra Billing and now in at least one province they Are telling doctors what should be the appropriate amount of time to be spent when examining a patient the recent unilateral Deci Sudnik air set lec priests for Equality contradicts Pope Paul ladies r facial hair removed permanently by latest electrolysis Short wave method safely quickly Dermie Institute 4oo 8wk Porlie it Edmonton 942 4110 movie movers London Reuter two Young lovers watching a seduction scene on a stage in a West end theatre Here produced a love making performance Al of their own in their seats. Creation of the priests group follows the organization last March of a coalition of american nuns pushing for Catholic women priests and planning a nationwide convocation on the Issue for thanksgiving week end in Detroit. It also comes on the heels of an International women s year speech april 18 by Pope Paul i that women Are not called to ordained ministries because they were not among Jesus twelve apostles. Roman Catholic Canon Law expressly limits priestly Ordi nation to males. And priestly ordination is required for virtually every decision Mak ing Post in the Church in eluding those regulating orders of women and updating Canon Law. But the Rev. William r. Callah an of priests for Equality said he finds Noth ing in scripture or tradition that validates the argument that Only men should be priests. Catholic won t take oath sir As a frequent visitor to Nuti Mik Lake i would like to write a few words in response to Ron Roslinski s letter in the free press july 19, entitled air service de fended. In his letter or. Roslinski accused or. Bird of Hind sight by the fact that or. Bird bought Bis cottage after the air service was established Well or. Ros Linsky so did my friends. At that time the air service had Only one plane a Cessna 180, which i believe it still or one similar to it. I can be As sure with the Birds As i am with my friends that by the Purchase of their cot tages they did not bargain for the acquisition of two additional planes on Nuti Mik Lake and two beavers at that which when compared on a noise basis to the Cess a 180, is like the difference Between a car with a Muffler and a locomotive with straight pipes. If this is not the first time the department of civil Avia Tion granted an airline a licence on a populated Lake i certainly Hope this will be the last i also feel that any facility in a provincial Park should serve the majority the majority of cottage owners that is not Fly in fishermen Why should cottage owners at an Airport pay Equa taxes to cottage owners at a quiet Lake in View of the re cent tax hike it seems to me the cottage owners at no timid should have therefore received a tax Cut. Somewhat irregular that they would fall off the Ceil ing since cottages Are built mainly As summer Homes and Aren t always built As sturdily nor with As much insulation As permanent Homes. There most certainly Are cottage owners at Natimuk Lake who object to the air service and the number is growing. Keep counting or. Roslinski May now conclude that there Are at least three who oppose the service or. Bird Helen Dyker and my self. Gabriel Masse Winnipeg Sion of the Federal minister of finance to limit expenditures under the Cost sharing medicare program Origi Nally forced on the provinces by Ottawa is a perfect example of what happens when private health insurance companies Are forced out of the Market place and re placed by an Agency of the state. Decision making no longer rests with the con Sumer . The patient or the potential patient but is at the whim of the Central government in Ottawa. While there Are Many advantages in a health care system in which the majority of patients have adequate sickness insurance coverage the economic and political consequences which Stem from the introduction Ify the state of a monopoly health plan Are potentially disastrous for the provision of Good and adequate health services readily available to All citizens. The parlous situation of the British National health ser vice 27 years after Socia .1 i z e d Medicine was in tin deed in the United King Dom is a Good Case in Point. In the end it is the poor patient who suffers the con sequences of Over zealous intervention by the state in the Field of health care but be fore this Point is reached the medical profession finds that it is cajoled and threatened and accused of being the Pri Mary cause of increasing health service costs. La a free society professional men awl women have every right to protect their interests and the time Kas now come for physicians Ami their friends and allies to take Steps to prevent those who practice the heal ing Art from becoming More and More subservient to the dictates of an autocratic government. How to escape from the trap perhaps the most Obi and sensible tactic is for physicians once again to Deal directly with their patients in respect of fees. However in Many medical offices it is impracticable to invoice individual patients for services rendered but there is no Rea son Why advantage should not be of the increasing use of credit cards in our modern society. It would be of interest to learn the views of your readers on this whole subject. A medical charge card organizing committee is presently being formed and those who support this concept of the use of a medical charge card or favor the idea of physicians entering into some form of association with established credit card agencies in Canada Are asked to Forward their views to the Secretary medical charge card organizing committee .
