Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - August 8, 1975, Winnipeg, Manitoba Chief pledges extra patrols on Aberdeen no dutch Elm disease Here. Yet by Glen Mackenzie j free press staff writer a meeting Between members of the Aberdeen Avenue Block club and Winnipeg police chief Norman Stewart resulted in a Promise thursday of extra special attention on Aber Deen Between Powers streets. Salter and chief Stewart said in an interview after the closed hour Long meeting thursday after n o o n the special attention would t be limited to uni formed patrol officers but would include vice squad Juve Nile traffic and other officers. He told residents at a meet ing july 30 the problem would be studied before any decision was made on their requests. Residents said thursday that regular patrols had been made on their streets and that some officers had got out of cars to walk along the Street. Chief Stewart said 10 prob Lem reports were received by police last month from their part of Aberdeen Avenue which is in North Winnipeg.
