Robert Gilbert Genaille 22, of 75 Hargrave Street was on parole from Stony Moun Tain Penitentiary where he was serving a three year sentence for similar offences when he met the woman in her St. James Assiniboia Home the evening of oct. 17. Genaille had known the woman since his boyhood when she preached in Bis Rural Manitoba Hometown court was told. About a.m., the woman went into her bed room to get some religious pamphlets for Genaille. When she turned Genaille was in the doorway to the room. He grabbed at her struck her on the face and knocked her on to the bed court was told. Court was told he tried to choke the woman to keep her quiet. The woman struggled and finally forced Genaille to leave the House and called police court was told. In a statement to police Genaille said he wanted to have sexual Intercourse with the woman court was told. Judge Mike Baryluk of provincial judges court in the Public safety building re commended Genaille receive psychiatric treatment while serving his prison sentence. Genaille1 s 18-month sen tence for assault with intent to commit rape is to be served after the outstanding portion of a three year sen tence which he received in june 1973, in Dauphin Man., for two convictions of assault causing bodily harm and a conviction of assault with in tent to commit rape. Johanson pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily harm and was sentenced by judge Robert tru Del of provincial judges court in the Public safety building. Johanson had a previous traffic acid criminal record but he had never been jailed.
