S in connection the Hijack ing if a greyhound bus has been released on bail to Deer Lodge Hospital for Psychia tric treatment. The Man William Edward b r a y 1 e y 45, of Grande Prairie appeared Friday in provincial judges court in the Law courts building before judge John j. Enns. The hijacking incident started near the West Hawk Falcon Lake area when a passenger on the bus a promo Helhe Driver and after threatening him with a knife forced him to drive non Stop to Winnipeg. Man was disarmed and arrested at the Winnipeg bus terminal. Or. Brayley is charged with Possession of an Offen Sive weapon and abduction. Worthless cheques bring jail Ross Thomas Harrison 38, of no fixed address was jailed Friday for one year for a number of offences Dur ing the past two years. He pleaded guilty to one charge each of theft at tempted false pretences and fraud lodgings and four counts of false pretences. He was sentenced by judge Anthony j. Pilutik of provincial judges court in the Public safety building. In december 1973, har Rison bought a coat by passing a worthless Cheque at Eaton s downtown store. He also attempted to pass a bad Cheque for in Mer Chandise and in Cash but fled when one of the store s clerks left to Check out his Bank account. In August 1974, he stole six cheques from the construction company he was working for at South Indian Lake Man., court was told. This month Harrison cashed a worthless Che que at the Sutherland hotel 785 main Street a worthless Cheque at the Regent Park Shell service station 609 Regent Avenue trans Cha and another Che que at an Imperial Oil Ltd. Station at 1015 notre Dame Avenue. Sometime Between nov. 10 and 17, he ran up an unpaid Bill of about at the Patricia hotel 713 main court was told. Harrison has a lengthy re Cord dating Back to 1956 for similar offences. He is Junces in connection Ilar offences court was told. Smash grab gets Man two months Robert Brian Robertson 19. Of 166 Scott Street was sentenced f r i d a to two months in jail and one years supervised probation for his part in a smash and grab theft at Banquo 546 main Street about 11 . Nov. 12. Robertson was caught by a witness and held for police after two men were seen standing in front of the store a store window was smashed and a tape machine valued at grabbed court was told. Robertson pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking enter ing and theft sentenced by judge Anthony j. Plulik of provincial judges court in the Public safety building. Robertson had been on parole until january 1976t for a breaking entering and theft conviction in British co Lumbia. The Manitoba sen tence will be served after the outstanding portion of the . Sentence. John Wilfred Gunn. 18, of 430 ban ring Street is to be tried.
