Three new tax Bills unveiled in legislature traffic motor transport to be separate boards the Manitoba Highway traffic and motor transport Board is to be split into two separate bodies highways minister Peter Burtniak announced monday. He is introducing in the legislature amendments to the Highway traffic act to create a traffic Board and a motor transport Board. The traffic Board would be responsible for All aspects of highways Protection speeds signs and control devices and the other Board would regu late the motor transport Industry. The motor transport Board would also be relieved of a number of administrative functions so it could devote More attention to the truck ing Industry. Inspection staff would be transferred to the traffic Board and registration of Public service vehicles would be turned Over to the registrar of Raptor vehicles. Among other amendments is a strengthening of the requirement for motor Carrier to file returns which helps in checking their efficiency and performance.
