Since 1944, the project been at work quietly throughout Manitoba teach ing children the value of conservation of the province s natural attributes. Huband backs govt strike rights a Liberal Manitoba government would give govern ment employees the right to strike provincial Liberal Leader Charles Urband said saturday. However that right would be limited and essential ser vices would be maintained or. Huband said in a press release. The Liberal Leader was responding to Manitoba government employees association president William Jack son s request for opposition views on whether civil servants should be brought under the labor re lations act. Or. Jackson has recently announced the Myka would withdraw support of the provincial government unless it brings the association under the act. Progressive conservative Leader Sterling Lyon has not made Public his views on the Issue but has proposed to meet with or. Jackson. Or. He said the association should have the i fit to strike As Long As essential services were maintained and said negotiations be tween labor and manage ment should begin before the old contract expires. A report on process of negotiations should be made to Thor minister of labor he said. If negotiations began to drag the minister could set up mediation or conciliation before the contract expires. And conciliation officers should be appointed by the chief Justice of Manitoba not the minister of labor he said.
