end on Manitoba ski slopes and trails and its a Good time to pay tribute to the development programs which Are turning out some Fine Young racers in both the Alpine and Cross country sections of the Manitoba Divi Sion of the Canadian ski on the Alpine the j4 program of team racing has been providing Young skiers with an Opportunity to race with the Best in the province and Treyve shown some remarkably fast development with the expert before the Manitoba milk producers agreed to take on the sponsorship of this Many potential racers had no where to youngsters competed in the Nancy Greene league up to age then most of them just dropped out because they didst want to try to compete in senior the Al program allows them to continue to race in a team concept and also gain some valuable individual experience by running the same courses As the older Conse Many of them developed into championship material in Shorter time and its showing up in the race one of the Best examples of the value of the program this season would be Janet Alsip of the la Riviere ski who came out of nowhere to make a name herself in the final two Manitoba cup who just turned won Throe races in a Row two at Brandon mount Glt Norcy and one at mount Agassiz and charged into third place in the Manitoba cup her efforts earned her the female most valuable team racer award in the j4 As Well As a trip to the Canadian juvenile ski championships this week at another example of the 34 development has been Reg Helwer of the Brandon ski who was Winner of the male most valuable honors and the Leader of the bran Don Gate gobblers team which won the team honors this Hal War finished fifth in the mens Manitoba cup there just two of the Many youngsters who Are involved in the Manitoba Alpine race scene and will
