One of the dead Edward Roberts 26, managed to make it to the out skirts of the City and apparently died As he attempted to climb the Thompson Side Bank of the Burn Twood River. Also dead Are Gordon Moody 21, and Maxwell Dwyer 22. Gregory Patzer 25, is in satisfactory Condi Tion in Thompson general Hospital with severe frostbite to his feet. All of the men Are from Thompson. Thompson ramp said the four had gone four wheel Riding Satur Day night and during that night or Early in the morning of Christmas eve their 1972 jeep had a Flat tire and ran out of Gas. The group had been driving around on Bush Cut roads close to Manitoba Hydro Power lines about eight Miles As the Crow flies out of Thompson. But they were Between 12 and 15 Miles out by Way of roads and the Power line that runs into Thompson police said. It is not known whether the four started out for Thompson Ogeth police said monday the Lone survivor was still in Shock. Authorities were alerted to the incident Only after Patzer made it to the City at about . Sunday and was then taken to Hospital by a taxi Driver who spotted him on a City Street. The ramp launched a search and Rescue operation sunday morning using snowmobiles an air plane and other vehicles and were assisted by Manitoba Hydro which supplied additional four wheel drive vehicles. The body of Dwyer was discovered sunday underneath the Power line about three Miles from the stalled vehicle. Moody was also found Sun Day morning under the Power line although some distance closer to Thompson. Ramp const. Ron o Quinn said the search for Roberts was Given up at dark sunday but resumed Early Christmas Day. Roberts was found about noon monday on the Banks of the River just inside the perimeter of the City. On the night of the incident temperatures in the Thompson area plunged to -42 a one of the coldest nights in the area this year.
