Darwin said the foundation has set the target for this year s drive this High because of the increasing demand for research Money into heart disease. Last year the heart foun Dation set out to raise 000 in Manitoba and response to the Appeal was so Good that was eventually raised. As a result of this response the executive director said the foundation was Able to award Grants totalling to Manitoba physicians and Basic scientists investigating various aspects of heart disease. Preliminary estimates indicate that this year about will be needed to continue support for ongoing research projects and help new projects off the ground Darwin said. She said there will again be major emphasis on the residential fund raising Campaign in Winnipeg and other Manitoba centres set for feb. 19 to 25. What we need is Volun Teers for that week.
