Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - January 26, 1979, Winnipeg, Manitoba Winnipeg free press Friday january 26, 1979 my by Billy Graham question i have seen you on television asking people to give themselves to Christ. What exactly does this mean . Answer let s imagine you were a citizen of a nation ruled by a very evil King. All you could look Forward to would be suffering and oppression. Now suppose i told you about another nation also ruled by a King. But this King was very Good and his subjects lived in peace and happiness. What would have to happen before you could become a citizen of that Good kingdom you would have to believe that it was True. You would have to renounce your old citizenship and reject the Rule of the evil King. Then you would have to become a citizen of the Good kingdom by a definite act and accept the Good King As King Over your life. That is what happens when we come to Christ. The Bible says we Are born As citizens of a cruel and evil King satan. We Are sinners and ultimately that will separate us eternally from god. But there is another kingdom the kingdom of god Jesus Christ came to take away our sins and restore us to a right relationship with god. For he has rescued us from the Dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the son he loves in whom we have redemption the forgiveness of sins colossians new International what does it mean to accept Christ it Means to believe the truth about him which the Bible presents that he is the son of god who died on the Cross to take away your sins by Faith in him. It Means to renounce our sins and our old manner of living. And it Means to accept a new King the lord Jesus Christ.
