Officials on the controversial Garrison irrigation project in North Dakota Canadian participants said yesterday they sense a greater recognition of Ca Nadian concerns about pollution dangers. The talks at the state department brought together officials from the Manitoba and North Dakota govern ments As Well As Federal authorities from both countries for the first time since a 1977 Canada-. Report severely critical of Garrison was published. The Reagan administration has not yet indicated whether or not it supports Garrison but the state s Republican governor Allen Olson said in Winnipeg two weeks ago he intends to press on with the scheme. Representatives from Manitoba and North Dakota left the meeting without making any comment to reporters. North Dakota wants Canada to inspect an experimental Are irrigation plot on the James River that would be part of Garrison As Well As a series of Sand filters and fish screens that Are being Deve loped for Garrison. Rejhon said a technical team will be sent from Ottawa to North Dakota but he noted a similar Mission last january to Denver colo., for talks with North Dakota officials about experimental equipment was frustrating because none of it met any of our concerns about pollution control.
