Wednesday april 29. 1981 i _ Canada won t lift embargo on uranium for Switzerland Ottawa _ after turn Ottawa up after two Days of talks with Swiss foreign minister Pierre Aube it. The Federal government still refuses to break its embargo on uranium shipments to Switzerland external affairs minister Mark Macguigan said yesterday that a new Bilat eral nuclear co operation agreement with Neutral Switzerland will not be signed until the Neutral european nation agrees to stringent safeguards against using Canadian uranium for military purposes. Positive discussions Aubert told reporters there were positive discussions among Swiss and Ca Nadian nuclear experts but acknowledged the two countries did not sign a draft agreement. A Swiss expert indicated Switzerland is unlikely to make concessions to meet the Canadian requirements. The Swiss minister was to leave today for Toronto to open an exhibit and speak to Swiss Canadian Chambers of Commerce before returning Home.
