Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - April 30, 1981, Winnipeg, Manitoba Montreal up Csc management is considering selective or general lockouts against technicians of its French network in response to work stoppages that have disrupted radio Canada programs from Montreal and Moncton a Corpora Tion official said yesterday. Paul Rousseau assistant director of human resources said the possibility of lockouts is under serious study by High level Csc manage ment. As a result of the walkouts radio Canada and the English outlets of the Csc in Quebec have had to give up their rights to broadcast Stanley cup National hockey league playoff games. Radio Canada announced yester Day that it is bowing out of its agreement with the Canadian sports network to present the games. Rousseau said the agreement had to be cancelled because the technicians who have been without a con uts on French network tract since last june would not assure the network there would be no More disruptions of the telecasts. Tva Quebec s privately owned French language to network and the private tet emedia radio network have agreed to broadcast the rest the hockey games. Don Marks a spokesman for the local ctr outlet of of said the station is willing to pick up the English telecast but it must first have the agreement of ctr to drop scheduled network programming. Ctr is unlikely to allow that he said. The technicians walked out last Friday cutting off telecast of a match Between Edmonton oilers and new York islanders.
