Ontario treasurer Frank Miller said he proposed the committee idea and it won unanimous agreement from his colleagues. Contribution rates at the current level for another 10 years after which it would jump sharply. Importantly this would help soften the Impact of additional costs to common approach in his statement to the ministers Miller warned them that Ottawa May try to move into pension administration. Unless we can come to a common approach to pension Reform and implement uniform legislation for regu lating private sector pension plans there will be serious pressure by the Public and the Federal government on us to relinquish this area of his argument was apparently a telling one As the provinces closed ranks and agreed to work on solutions.
