The jangly whimpering creature with big eyes and ears was a pathetic sight All right but he needed her. And admittedly she needed him too. Betsy a 10-year-old Quarter horse has been suckling the baby Moose since it was brought to Desrosiers farm in St. Halo a month ago. She just took it when we brought it close to said Marilyn Desro Siers 18, and she gets nervous when we take him Moose follows her everywhere just As if she was his she said. Betsy had milk because she d recently lost her foal when it drowned in the rat River while she was giving birth. Ironically Moose s Mother had abandoned him after giving birth to twins because she was toe Small to feed them both. Only about three weeks old at the time Moose had wandered onto a Road in Swan River in Northern Mani Toba where he was spotted by six members of the Desrosiers family on their Way to a Cousin s wedding. They brought him Home in the trailer despite Mother s reluctance said Marilyn the eldest child of four. Moose was fed from a baby bottle his first Day on the 320-acre beef farm because no one expected stubborn Betsy to adopt the mewling animal. I we be never heard of such a said Marilyn the whole has come by to see Moose supplements Mother s milk Long grass because his legs Are too Long to eat off the ground As cows do said Marilyn. Moose is an affectionate animal who puzzles everything from Chick ens to camera equipment and she enjoys playing bully with the Desrosiers children. Marilyn said rangers have investigated the unusual situation and plan to place the Moose in a zoo for either wild or farm animals sometime in the future.
