Attempted murder charges Laid after shooting at hotel Winnipeg free frees saturday june of photo two Winnipeg men have been charged with attempted murder follow ing a shooting incident thursday out Side the new Occidental hotel 631 main Street. A police spokesman said yesterday that Early thursday morning two men were involved in an altercation at the hotel and left a Short time later. At ., the two returned to the hotel and stopped their car outside the front door. One Man got out and banged on the front door and when the night clerk opened the door two shots were fired from the car at the hotel the police spokesman said. Although the clerk 31, was not hit by the bullets he received a slight injury when he was hit by flying chips from the Wall the spokesman added. The two assailants fled in the car and about 15 minutes later police arrested two suspects in another main Street hotel. One of the suspects aged 31, appeared in court yesterday on charges of attempted murder possessing an unregistered restricted weapon a .22-Ca Libre handgun and possessing a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the Public peace. He was remanded into custody without plea to july 8. The second suspect aged 26, appeared in court yesterday on the same charges. He was granted bail and remanded without plea to july 3.
