Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - June 30, 1987, Winnipeg, Manitoba Pawley urges Mulroney to hold s on Trade Deal by Radha Krishnan Thampi Premier Howard Pawley has urged prime minister Mulroney to hold nationwide Public hearings be fore signing a free Trade Deal with the United Pawley told the House yesterday a free Trade Deal could be of great importance to the economic and so Cial fabric of Canada for years to the first ministers Are to meet in Ottawa next tuesday for their quarterly on Day conference on Pawley said Mulroney will meet separately with the four Western premiers the next Day to discuss Ottawa plans for a Western eco nomic diversification the Federal government has promised that they will not support a Trade Deal unless it is Good for every province and Region in Pawley adding that commit ment is even More critical As the final stages of talks the Premier also said Mulroney should make Public relevant details of the Deal immediately to avoid Las minute we
