Michael Siryj at the Misericordia Hospital on August after a Brief Michael was born in Ukraine on january his family moved to Brandon when he was ten years old and later to flin where he completed High during the second world Michael was proud to serve with the Royal Canadian Navy in the North the Caribbean and the Pacific on his discharge he enrolled at the University of Manitoba where he received his Bachelor of science degree and later a Bachelor of education degree for Many years until his retirement in 1986 he was a teacher of chemistry and department head of science at Hap not collegiate in flin he also made time to work with great Dedica Tion and commitment with the Navy league the Royal Cana Dian sea cadets and 21s Field Squadron army Cadet corps in flin flon he served As command ing officer of re Sec husky from 1971 in 1976 he was awarded the Canada Centennial medal in recognition of valuable service to the he was also a member of the Royal Canadian legion Branch flin flon for 50 Michael will be sadly missed by his Lov ing wife of nearly 48 years his daughters Victoria armanios o Darcia Siryj of Calgary and by his brother John of flin he was predeceased by his parents Peter and Katherine after he moved to Winnipeg in 1991 Michael was always Glac to meet his former friends and acquaintances from flin flon Michael believed in Strong fam ily his sense of he Pauls United a faithful worker at Matthew Maryland for 20 and a worshipper at Westminster for the few months before failing health confined her to her for Over 50 1364 was a source of warmth and Comfort which she maintained with care and after her mothers death in she dedicated her energies to making it a Loving Home for her father until his death at she spent Many contented hours tending her plants and her keeping in touch with her family and and supporting Many charities in her Effort to further her dream of a world of peace and she led a simple but full life to which she brought a keen a quiet determination and sense of Strong a constant awareness of the needs of and a belief in the essential goodness of her Battle for breath Over the last months was fought with quiet dignity and
