want to be sure their tax dollars Are being used Felix they Are not getting that right while the liberals have Cut Transfer payments to the provinces by 40 per they have Only Cut their own spending by two per what kind of priorities Are these for the average the Liber als have not proven to be any com since they were elected in the average family take Home pay has barely but the grits have increased taxes 40 a progressive conservative government will Cut personal income taxes by 10 per cent giving families their biggest raise in 10 that important because putting Money into Peoples tax cuts Are helping parents better plan their childrens Edu cation by doubling the education tax and allowing the tuition tax credit to include fees other than our youth Are among the Best to assist the transition from school to work the youth employment strategy yes focuses on partnerships so Young people can gain employment and experience needed to the news is Good for through close Contact and regular mailings i proudly share information and solicit the opinions of my con in there is by working together we can secure our thanks to the efforts of the Liberal Canada is poised As a Leader entering the next lets keep the momentum nip will build Strong Economy sir Winston Church ills democracy is the worst form of government except for All the aptly describes the economic mess the conservative and Liberal governments have created in Cana Large majority governments have not served Canada they have excluded other representatives from contributing to the economic Well being of the due to the dismal failure of the conservatives and the a Strong representation of new democrats is required to preserve parliamentary democracy and eco nomic both the bloc and the Reform parties have functioned in a perfunctory to the reforms performance can be described As Mulroney and his conserva Tives promised what we received after nine years was a bloodless dictator and a crumbling his government is responsible for introducing Over 70 tax increases including the much hated get recognizing the numbers in the Senate were not on his he sought an increase through bucking Ham Palace and rammed the get Down our Mulroney also dispensed some of our Crown corporations to his signed the billion Pur Chase of the eh101 appointed a plethora of patronage signed the free Trade agreement fat and negotiated the North american free Trade agree educator 51 married with three children ment both Trade agree ments played a significant role in displacing workers through Down business buyouts and Plant in after nine years of the conservative the Canadian electorate sent the conservatives to the penalty Box by turfing them out of then came Chretien with jobs a great he did reduce the deficit by reducing Transfer payments to the provinces which resulted in deteriorating health and education programs and a burgeoning child poverty in the performance of the Chretien government is some of his major promises Are untouched and others ended up Cost ing Mega the much touted get is and he did not renegotiate the free Trade agree ment even though he said they were spending tax dollars the Liberal government spent million to cancel the eh101 Heli billion to Purchase Termi Nal 3 and compensatory Cost for cancelling the Sale of terminal also included Are the bungled sky bus affair and the awarding of the contract to a pollster to Tell canadians what they already canadians Are fearful of their eco nomic in years the Chretien liberals have not been Able to give canadians Hope for the kind of future they the red Book serious con Cerns have been raised in the minds of canadians about some of their political As the new democratic party candidate for i have what it takes to represent the constituents in making Canada i am an educator with three degrees including a graduate degree in Public i am married with three i am eager to be your representative in i love Canada with a passion and am committed to serving my coun i would Only be Happy when most canadians Are i want to make Canada Strong where All canadians Are Able to find meaningful jobs and live the lifestyle comparable to those of their parents and to accomplish this i Trust that the voters of Charleswood Assini Boine will make it of Friss m 66 four six grandchildren citizens take Back control of Canada in a few Days you will be called upon to cast your vote in the 1997 Federal i think you will agree that this election will be an important one for our the old line parties who have been run Ning Canada have left us at a Cross roads economically and socially and i believe a new approach to government is required in order to select the right Road to the the people i talk with in Charleswood Assiniboine Are genuinely concerned about the seniors Are worried when they learn that big increases in cup payments Are needed just to preserve the Sta Tus quo awhile Young people wonder where they can find a Job and just How much of their pay Cheque they will be Able to keep for their own Young parents Are frustrated by working overtime to make ends and everyone is concerned with the reductions in medical services and increased crime in their the Feder Al government has done Little Over the past 25 years to address these problems despite the creation of a massive but elections Are about policies and the Reform party will implement a reduction in govern ment spending that will reduce the tax create More and better jobs and ensure funding for services such As health education and this policy direction pro Vides canadians with a genuine alter native in the upcoming the old vision held by the tories and nip revolves around big government and High taxes that go with it is a vision which has us working More than half the year just to pay the tax and it is a vision which fails to believe in implying that this country can Only be held together through govern ment programs and government the Reform party envisions a country defined and built by its Citi rather than by its it is a vision of smaller government and lower leading to growth and real it is a vision of a jus Tice system which places the punish ment of crime and the Protection of la abiding citizens and their prop erty ahead of other the Reform party has a specific plan that will bring new Hope and give us the fresh Start we need to take charge of our own on a More personal i wish to express my admiration for All those from Manitoba and across the who Are giving so selflessly of themselves during the red River flood
