Brandon a Dane Samuel 37, won his second men a full Marathon title at the 2004 Manitoba Marathon crossing the finish line in the University of Manitoba stadium in a time of two hours 31 minutes and 27 seconds. Also the men a Winner in 1999, Samuel said he Felt he finished poorly last year and started training this year with a purpose. He beat his 1999 time of 2 33 54 i wanted to win said a grinning Samuel who wears his hair in dreadlocks that he said ended up in his face when his Ponytail Holder fell out Early on. I a More like a seasonal run Ner. This year i trained More than in the last few Samuel was on his own out on the course finishing 12 minutes ahead of second place Dimitry Melman 42, of Winnipeg at 2 44 49. Darcey harder 32, of Winnipeg was third at 2 45 52 last year was a Wake up Call. If i really want to run i need to train More said Samuel a father of three children who was also named top Manitoban. He said he will consider coming Back in 2005 to defend his title. After a Cloud of controversy that left the women a full Marathon without a Clear win Ner for several hours after its conclusion 33?year-old Harmony Holland of Bradenton fla., was named the 2004 Champion with a time of 3 07 20. Officials reviewed tapes from cameras on the course and eliminated three other individuals who were thought to have run the half Marathon course in error. I be run in 13 or 14 marathons and this would be my first win said Holland the Mother of a 14-year-old son and two Daugh ters Ages 10 and 12. Holland who finished third in the women a full Marathon last year was in Winnipeg to visit her parents Marguerite and Len Flett. Jason Loutitt a member of the Manitoba bosons Cross country team won the men a half Marathon with a time of 1 09 49. Loutitt had placed second in the half Marathon for three straight years in 2000-2002 and was the top Manitoban in the full Marathon last year and fourth Overall. It feels Good and i Felt pretty comfortable out there said Loutitt whose time was a personal Best. I wanted to get faster and focusing on Shorter distances to get ready for my last year of Cross country at University. I Mon my Way to Vail colo., in two weeks to try to get on team Canada for the world Mountain running championship sept. 4-5 in Italy he said he would need to place in the top six among the eight canadians competing on the 7 1/2-mile course which rises in Elevation from 8,200 feet to 10,500 feet.
