In the document co founder Larry Page promised to make the world a better place and said the company would not be these were unconventional statements in a Docu ment normally filled with dry legalese. But then again Google is anything but a conventional enter prise. Launched just six years ago by two Stanford University graduate students Google has managed to captured almost three quarters of the search engine Market. Today it dominates internet advertising sales through a words ? ads that Are relevant to Mil Lions of people who use its service every Day. Google made about $1.4 billion us in advertising sales last year which includes around a half billion in fees paid to its partners like ask jeeves for hosting links to Google placed ads. Ask jeeves is the worlds second largest search engine with a global Market share of six per cent Well behind Google the world Leader with More than 70 per cent of the world Market. Google a dominance in online advertising is detailed in its prospectus which the founders Page and Sergey Brin Hope will raise $2.6 billion us when the shares Are offered for Sale in an online auction later this year. Advertising is our principal source of Revenue and the ads we provide Are relevant and useful rather than intrusive and annoy ing Page says in the prospectus. Google is not Only unconventional in the design of its search engine but also in the Way the company is managed. A triumvirate ? Page Brin and ceo Eric Schmidt ? run the company As a team. The company a Headquarters is known As Google Lex and the people who work there Are called googles. They spend up to 20 per cent of their time coming up with fresh ideas for new Google products and services. Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one Page says in the prospectus adding the company will remain True to its ideals which includes a 10-Point philosophy for conducting business. The integrity of Google a Page rank search protocol cannot be bought says Page. It is a Core value for Google. We never manipulate rankings to put our partners higher in our search Google a search engine receives about 200 million queries a Day and responds to each in about a half second. Google is unlike other search engines in that it is designed to crawl and Index the web More efficiently than conventional websites.
