Quebec girl found Safe after bizarre kidnapping drama discovered with mom by off duty officer by Brenda Branswell m ont real an extensive search for a missing girl ended happily yesterday morning when four year old Megan Ladouceur was found unharmed in drum Mondville about 110 Kilometres North East of Montreal. An off duty Highway patrol officer spotted the girl walking along a Road with her Mother Sophie Cayer and grandmother Huguette Lareau. Cayer and Lareau were arrested but police said it was too Early to say whether charges will be Laid in what has become a bizarre family Saga involving a suicide threat a custody dispute and an unsolved car bombing a few months ago. The women were initially brought to the local police station. But Cayer was transported to Hospital when police noticed wounds on her forearms. Gignac would not elaborate on her injuries which Are not life threatening. Lareau meanwhile was transferred to a Longueuil police station where she was being questioned by police. Child Protection officials will determine where the child should go Gignac said. Many questions remain however about the family a bizarre Saga Over the past few months. The girls father a 40-year-old computer Programmer is in Hospital and under police Protection. His leg was amputated after a bomb exploded in his car out Side his Longueuil apartment in May. Police also said they have no suspects yet in the car bombing incident. They issued composite sketches last week of a Man and a woman ? both about 50?years-old. For the moment its two separate events Gignac said. There is no one targeted. All we want is that those Pic Tures enable us to identify a person. We want under the Amber Alert program an Alert is issued to news Media and on High Way billboards when a child is abducted and police have reason to believe his or her life could be in danger. The program is named after Amber Hagerman a nine year old Arlington tex., girl who was abducted and Mur dered in 1996.
