National director Lou Hoffer said yesterday the guardian Angels will visit Winnipeg during the first week in sep tember. The City is one of several stops fifty teams paddle to fight kids cancer by Sean Moore they came in last but got a heroes Welcome. Chemo savvy a team of 22 breast cancer survivors was one of five women a teams that competed in the big strokes for Little folks River City dragon boat races. He said this will give them an idea if there is a citizen Volunteer base to support the organization in Winnipeg As Well As a clearer picture of where patrols might be needed. This year the fringe sur passed the previous record with 69,320 ticket sales. Since ticket sales were on Par with last year for most of the week organizers did not expect to surpass 2004?s record breaking fringe. Unlike 2004, this years Western fringe had 10 fewer theatre companies. This years fest opened with 127 shows after nine companies dropped out for personal reasons.
