Thiessen said there is no Neutral ground on religious exercises in schools. They Are violating my rights if they take religious exercises out of the schools he said. If everyone attending the schools in Garden Valley takes part no ones rights Are being violated Thiessen said. The Winkler High school has had Complete participation by All students in the religious exercises a Parent activist said yesterday. We believe parents in this division want to have their children participate in open ing exercises. It enhances our schools not takes away from it said Connie Driedger past president of the Parent Council at Garden Valley collegiate. Driedger said a form goes Home from school each Spring asking for parents signatures. We Contact the parents who have not signed she said. We have full support in our schools from our education minister Peter Bjornson was not available yesterday but a senior aide issued a statement the pub Lic schools act makes allowances for both religious exercises and religious instruction upon petition by parents.
