He said the first Nuru recipe is a Light Beer in the same vein As Labatt Lite or Bud Lite to Cater to the vast majority of Manitoban who prefer a Light and Sweet taste profile. It is being brewed under contract by fort Garry brewing co. Nuru was developed at the Imbt cos facilities on main Street a Plant Mccaig says is the third largest brewery in the province. Ca by Joe Paraskevas less than two weeks of Holiday shopping remain and there Are Only a few signs that recalls of chinese made toys earlier this year have made Consumers More cautious about buying anything with a made in China Label. Neither toy store owners nor watchers of buying trends say they have spotted a significant drop in sales of chinese manufactured toys. In fact they suggest reports of Chin ass manufacturing flaws and predictions of a consumer Holiday backlash against toys made in that country May have been overblown. Well were getting the Odd question of people a Hove been put in a panic by the Media said Ray England owner of Toad Hall toys the 30 year old downtown Winnipeg establishment that has the largest selection of toys in Canada. The Media have done a terrible disservice in misinformation on this subject England added. England suggested most problems with toys Stem from design flaws which Are the responsibility of toy companies rather than manufacturing errors which occur at factories where the toys Are actually made. Media reports last throughout this year have focused on problems such As Lead paint use in chinese factories. However research by Hari Bapuji a University of Manitoba International business professor has pointed to greater problems in toy design. Bapuji looked at 20 years of data on recalls of toys made in China and found 76 per cent were related to design flaws such As Small parts or Sharp edges. By comparison about 10 per cent of recalls were traced to manufacturing practices such As poor Assembly or the use of Lead paint Bapuji reported in september. In Winnipeg toy stores staff said they have heard relatively few concerns about chinese made toys. Occasionally said Liza Minotti Barker manager at the Grant Park Centre store of a Childs place. Just this morning someone comes in and looks for toys specifically not from China. For the most part i a vent noticed a lot of concern any More. Joe. Paraskevas free press. My.
