Pm 233 4000 advertisement t he number of comments on our blogs Rose this week with crime issues garnering the most reaction. Police reporter James Turner delved deeper into the controversy surrounding an alleged confiscation of a photographers memory card by Winnipeg police and Drew mixed responses. Court reporter Mike main tyres take also sparked interest. Re James Turner the crime scene the wrong question from aug. 22 the problem i see Here is that it will be a minimum of two officers words against St. Laurent. If St. Laurent was to pursue this Issue you can bet that the officer involved and his partner and any other officer at the scene that night Are going to say that he was indeed read his rights. I have yet to see a situation where the Winnipeg police have Ever freely and voluntarily admitted wrongdoing. Comment by aug. 24, 2008 what i see is a lot of whining and complaining by people who Are being detained by police. Everyone knows that the criminal has More rights than the victims in Canada. We Are a nation of whiners and complainers. When the criminal is caught and then released we complain. When the victim gets no Justice we complain. When the police do their Job we complain police in this and every other City have to Deal with criminals with guns and knives and when they have to Deal with the outside Nosey rubber necking Public then it makes their Job More difficult. Not Only do they have to search out the criminals. They also try to keep track of innocent bystanders in the area but now the camera hound who May be trampling evidence giving away locations and putting the police and others at risk by arguing that he has a right to be there. For Peters Sake let them do their Job. Comment by Karen says aug. 26, 2008 @ 7 52 a. M. Re Mike Mcintyre Mike on crime not quite All the news thatus fit to print from aug. 21 it is amazing to read Paul St. Laurentus allegations of police confiscating his memory card and police now claiming they took nothing from him. Given the Harvey Zenk episode and coverups like the one that kept James Driskell behind bars barring other evidence ism afraid id say this is an open and shut Case based on the character and reputation of those involved. Or. St. Laurent has never lied to me and ism not aware of him Ever having lied to the press obstructing Justice or committing what i would Call perjury. I cant say the same about the was.
