A Small Alberta town is paralysed with fear after the chilling murder of 14 year old Emily stauffer and a second attack three Days later on a Young woman walking on the same Forest trails. Its terrifying for All the parents in Edson because you cant let your kids go out of sight anymore said Latisha Parkinson who has lived in the Community of 8,000 for More than a dozen years. It could be anybody a resident or someone just in town for work or somebody who has just come into town. Dozens of ramp officers were scouring the streets and the Bush wednesday but there have been no arrests. Investigators have so far been unable to say if the two attacks Are linked. A mountie who spoke to the Canadian press says the search for suspects includes the so called Shadow population of transient workers who live in campers trailers and even tents in the boreal Forest that surrounds the town. Emilyos dad is the pastor at the local Baptist Church and her funeral is expected to draw More than 1,000 mourners on Friday. Brian Thebeau chairman of the Edson Baptist Church said the family is bearing up As Well As can be expected but the Church has closed its doors until next week. They definitely have the lord to lean on and that it is giving them a lot of strength said Thebeau. The whole Christian Community Here in Edson has also been absolutely wonderful in supporting the family. More than 40 ramp Are now patrolling Edson which is normally policed by 15 officers. Officers have been called into the town from detachments across Alberta. The second attack came As the medical examiner confirmed that Emily was murdered but ramp would not say How she died or if she was sexually assaulted. Police wont release details of the crime because it might interfere with the investigation. The mounties Are appealing to the Public for tips and have also urged people not to take the Law into their own hands.
