Staff three injured streets closed in two accidents h is name made International headlines but Micheal Langan believed to be Canadas youngest fatality after being tapered remains profoundly and tragically Anonymous. Somewhere in Brookside cemetery Langan is buried without a Tombstone. His Mother Sharon Shymko vowed that one Day a simple Stone will Brand her 17 year old songs grave. Langan died last july after the lonely Metis teen faced off with Winnipeg police service officers in a William Avenue Back Lane. Quickly details spilled out like the 63 kilogram boy brandished a knife he refused to drop after allegedly stealing something from a nearby car an object since identified As a binocular Case. Then there was the Messy family life that had his Mother publicly lambasting his estranged father a panhandler at a press conference held by Manitoba Metis federation leaders. They called the altercation racial profiling to the Chagrin of police and City brass. Months later Shymko said she awaits answers at a provincial inquest that will explore the circumstances of her songs death. Tears still come easily to the Petite woman at the mention of her songs unmarked grave. Nobody yes taking care of it. I have to take care of it. But i cant take care of it right now. I dont have the Money to take care of it. But he will get one one Day she said. Everybody should have one you know a memory of what a Good boy he was. He never even got to Start his life or anything. Thatus the Best i could do for him. Shymko and her son had a Loving if not tumultuous relationship punctuated by moves from Winnipeg to Kelowna b. C., and Back. Before his death there was alleged violence Between Langan and one of shy Kos adult partners which left the teen in Hospital for Days. The fight left 17 Staples and a Metal plate in Langanis Arm Shymko said and allegedly occurred on William Avenue less than a Kilometre from where Langan would later die. No charges were pressed Shymko said. Poignant pictures emerged of a loner teen with few friends who scrounged the City for Metal cans to make Money. With no stable address at the time of his death Langan crashed at a seedy Rooming House with his impoverished father. Swept up in grief when she first spoke publicly Shymko said Sheds now not sure exactly what happened Between her son and police. Shymko now suspects her son feared running into officers because of potential Legal repercussions for some minor damage he allegedly caused last Spring. Head never been to a funeral though and affectionately told his Mother not to cry Over a dead Friend. He said mom get Over it. Hers dead already. Theress nothing you can do about it a she said. Shymko hates stun guns and wants the weapons banned. She said she will attend each Day of the inquest a tall order considering she has health issues. And she said she loves her son. I am going to do to the Best of my ability to get to the Bottom of this whole matter she said. The Only answers we get is from the medical examiner As far As ism concerned.
