Our 14th annual pennies from heaven Campaign is wrapping up on what we believe is another successful year despite an Economy in a tailspin. I say believe because As we say each year about a Charity fundraiser that relies so much on pennies and other coins we dont know How much was raised yet. Thatus because were still counting coins. Well let you know the final tally raised later this year at the Kickoff to our next Campaign. But thanks to the fraternal order of eagles aerie 3870 in st. Norbert were ending our Campaign on a High note. Two dozen members of the order and three children came together for a social event on new years eve which included a silent auction. Bob Lowry said a few hours later the group had raised More than $ 620 for pennies from heaven to give to the Christmas cheer Board. Whats More the st. Norbert eagles Branch also contributed a whopping More than 545 kilograms of food for Winnipeg Harvest the other hunger Charity for which pennies raises funds. But there Are other people to thank. Kudos go to the students staff and administration in the Louis Riel school division they raised an incredible $ 13,976.40 with their pennies for a red Campaign which flows through to our fundraiser. Thanks to Christian musician Steve Bell who helped spark the most successful fundraiser within a fundraiser our Campaign has Ever had. The better part of $ 9,000 came in because of people bidding to have him perform in their Home. Thank you to two unique fundraisers that came on Board this year to help our local hungry. Jensen Nursery raised $ 650 through contributions from the sales of Christmas Trees and wreaths.
