T he Congress of aboriginal Peoples suspended its Manitoba director after the Man threatened to go Public with allegations of sexual harassment and drunkenness involving senior staff including National chief Patrick Brazeau one of 18 new senators recently appointed by prime minister Stephen Harper. Manitoba Board director Walter Menard said Friday the Congress suspended him last fall after he vowed to air the allegations at the Congress annual meeting in november. However the Congress says the suspension was related to the Manitoba Branch misrepresenting membership figures. Former chief Brazeau who stepped Down Friday to take up his position in the Senate has been accused of sexual harassment and tolerating drunkenness in the Congress office. A former female employee at the Congress filed a sexual harassment complaint with the human rights tribunal in Ontario which Brazeau confirmed names him. Menard said Friday he spoke up about the allegations after a costly internal investigation failed to Clear the air. In March the Board ordered an Independent Law firm to investigate workers stories of misconduct. At the same time it suspended Brazeau with pay. The report cleared the chief in september but the Bill added up to a whopping $ 67,000 and Board members were not allowed to see the full report to protect those interviewed anonymously. We wanted to know what was going on Menard said. Wed paid $ 67,000 for a report we get our hands on. Menard said the complaints involved several women who worked or had worked for the Congress. Ramp sgt. Line Harpish said the crash occurred shortly after 6 p. M. The woman was rushed to Hospital in critical condition after the car she was Riding in collided with a Semi trailer.
