Police said that sometime between 6 a. m. and 8 a. m. on June 3, a 24- year- old woman was walking near a park in Osborne Village when she was approached by a man who asked for a cigarette. The two began talking, and a short time later the suspect began to touch the woman inappropriately. He then sexually assaulted her. The attack was interrupted by a passerby, and the suspect fled. Const. Jason Michalyshen said there have been several similar assaults in the city lately and investigators are trying to determine if one suspect is involved in all the attacks. “ We want to make every effort to identify who this individual may be,” Michalyshen said, adding, however, there is nothing concrete to tie one individual to more than one attack. “ Right now, we are treating this as another unfortunate sexual assault,” Michalyshen said. The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, between 20 to 30 years of age, 5- 8, small to medium build, cleanshaven, short brown hair and hazel eyes.
