No one was in the building at the time. The structure was a side- by- side building consisting of the RCMP community office and a space used as storage by the First Nation. Despite efforts by RCMP officers and the local fire department to extinguish the blaze, the building and its contents were destroyed. Damage estimates were not available. The fire is being treated as an arson and an investigation is underway with the assistance of the Thompson RCMP major crime unit and the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner. St. Theresa Point is about 600 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. Flight detours to Churchill AN Airbus A340- 600 made an unscheduled landing in Churchill on Sunday afternoon after a passenger got sick. The plane was en route from Munich, Germany to Los Angeles. A community member said the ill passenger was later transferred to a Winnipeg hospital for treatment. The plane departed Churchill around 6: 50 p. m. Sunday. The Airbus A340- 600 is the longestfuselage jetliner built by Airbus, according to the company's website, and can seat up to 419 people. Lawyer seeks Liberal post A 35- year- old Winnipeg lawyer will become the first official candidate for the Manitoba Liberal Party leadership when she files her papers today. Rana Bokhari said Monday her legal training, combined with years of experience in fundraising and volunteerism, has given her the foundation to take on the task of rebuilding the provincial Liberal party. Bokhari said she wants to build a centrist party that believes in fiscal responsibility but also cares about social justice. " There's a large group of Manitobans that are tired of the status quo. They want something different. I'm confident that I can offer that," the Springfield Collegiate and University of Manitoba graduate said. Manitoba Liberal Leader Jon Gerrard announced he would step down following the 2011 provincial election. He was able to retain his River Heights seat but the party's popular support fell. The party will hold its leadership convention on Oct. 26. Bokhari is a former president of the Manitoba Law Students' Association.
