No
magic
red
carpet
J ENNIFER Lawrence,
almost the only reason to
watch awards shows any
more, told the people at Comic-
Con last weekend she's still not
used to the red- carpet scene.
She's done the awards circuit
twice - for Winter's Bone and
then for the Hunger Games movie
- but both times " it was kind
of this new world where I was
wearing these dresses where
I don't look like myself. I don't
feel like myself. I still don't."
Gomez
goes gaga
Selena Gomez tells Extra!
that she got pretty excited
when she met Bradley Cooper
for the first time:
'' I just remember seeing
him and freaking out and
running away very quickly
afterward... It was surreal.
He was so beautiful. I told
him I was a big fan. I'll have a
restraining order soon.''
She just turned 21. He's 38.
Howdy Doody
NOT FOR SALE
Yes, Detroit is going bankrupt, and it's a metaphor for decaying America,
and it's all very sad. But at least Howdy Doody is safe.
I'll bet you didn't know the city owns the original marionette from the TV
show, which was a 1950s staple and icon. This object belongs to the Detroit
Institute of Arts, owned in turn by the city, and people say Howdy Doody
One, as the artifact is known, would bring $ 1 million at auction.
The city's creditors want the money, along with anything that can be
squeezed out of the DIA's brand- name artworks ( Diego Rivera, Van Gogh,
Whistler, etc.). But the city's emergency manager named by Michigan,
Kevyn Orr, says no way:
" Nothing is for sale, including Howdy Doody." You've got to love that
quote.
( It is sad about Detroit, Listen to Bob Seger's classic Making Thunderbirds
for a taste of what Detroit once was.)
He's got it
covered
Rolling Stone magazine is still in deep doodoo
after that cover making Boston bomber
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev look like a glamour boy.
And now the problem just got worse for the
mag:
Jack Osbourne, Ozzie's son, never before
regarded as the brightest bulb in the sign, has
launched a petition to urge RS to contribute
all profits from the issue to victims of the
bombing.
The petition, at change. org, has already
passed 30,000 signatories. No comment from
the mag.
Jack is 27.
Ashton Kutcher,
computer geek
Ashton Kutcher is this close to signing a $ 10- million endorsement
deal with Lenovo, the computer company, says the New
York Post .
See, AK plays Steve Jobs in that biopic, if they ever release
it. Evidently the big brains at Lenovo think people will then
find him credible about all things computer- ish.
Easy,
Tiger
U. S. Olympic skier Lindsey
Vonn is quite happy
dating Tiger Woods. But
don't even think about a
wedding, she says.
These two went public
as a couple last March.
" We immediately clicked,
you know?" she tells
Vogue mag.
However, " I am definitely
not getting married...
to anyone.
Born Lindsey Kildow,
she was married to ski
coach Tom Vonn from
2007 until January.
Meanwhile Tiger's ex,
Elin Nordegren, told the
N. Y. Post she approves of
Vonn, saying she might be
a steadying influence on
Tiger.
Lindsey's 28. Tiger's 37.
Elin's 33.
Pot calls kettle black
Justin Bieber is stupid, Miley Cyrus told the Sun , in England.
After his recent PR disasters, she says, she called and " told Justin to
take a bit of time out" from his career. Then, she said, people won't be " so
obsessed with you and nitpick."
She added this: " He's still stupid, though. But everyone does dumb stuff
when they are messed up." What did she mean by that?
Spotlight couple
Jake Gyllenhaal's latest is Alyssa Miller, a
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. She's 24.
