The 47- year- old male driver of the SUV, along with two passengers, a four- year- old boy and a two- year- old girl, all from Moose Lake, were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. Another two passengers in the car, a 34- year- old female and 42- year- old female, were also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. Both were from Moose Lake. The names of the deceased have not been released. RCMP report low visibility due to blowing snow was a factor in the collision. Alcohol and seatbelt use have yet to be determined. Three dead in northern road crash B RANDON - A Manitoba woman who was high on a mix of prescription drugs when she left her infant in a stroller in the middle of the street has been fined $ 500 and put on probation for two years. Judge Donovan Dvorak called the woman's actions " a stunning act of parental neglect." The 24- year- old mother pleaded guilty this week to abandoning her sixmonth- old daughter. Crown attorney Grant Hughes said on June 5 around 3 a. m., a man and his girlfriend on a balcony saw a woman push a stroller, then leave it in the middle of the street and keep walking. The man moved the stroller off the street, called police and stayed with the baby until officers arrived. The man provided a description of the woman and police found her, drowsy and confused, behind a building near where the baby was left. She told police that she'd been walking to her friend's home and thought she'd left her child there. But at the police station, she said she was walking home after abusing prescription pills for most of the night. " She stated that she wasn't in the right frame of mind, forgot that she had her baby with her so she continued walking," Hughes said. " She appeared to be remorseful." Defence lawyer Bob Harrison said his client - who was " very high" that night - took several prescription drugs. She has no memory of what happened and at the time didn't realize what she'd done, Harrison said. Harrison noted that his client hasn't abused her medications since the incident. The woman has already attended a residential substance- abuse program, Hughes said. The woman has two children, including the one she left in the stroller. " I'm sorry. What I did is not good parenting," the woman said in court, adding she's taking parenting courses and focused on keeping drug- free. - Brandon Sun Probation, fine for abandoning infant High on drugs when left child on street A_ 12_ Jan- 31- 15_ FP_ 01. indd A12 1/ 30/ 15 10: 27: 59 PM ;
