JULIETTE MARIE DELPHINE FILLION
(nee BELANGER)
It is with great sadness that we announce
the passing of our mom, grandma and great-
grandma on September 8, 2020, with family
by her side.
Juliette was predeceased by her parents,
Yvonne (nee Provencher) and Jean-Baptiste
Belanger, numerous brothers and sisters as
well as her loving daughter Denise Yvonne
Pearson.
Juliette came to Manitoba from Quebec
with her husband Rosaire Pearson where they
began a new life together. They had three
children together, Denise (Benny), Sylvia
(Dennis), and Ronald (Michele). In 1989,
Juliette married Leo Fillion and added seven
more children to the family she loves so very
much. Mom always welcomed everyone with
open arms. She loved food-cooking, sharing
and sampling off other plates. If you were
lucky you tried one of her meat pies. Juliette
enjoyed knitting socks and mittens for
everyone, being outdoors and gardening.
Juliette’s greatest pride was her family. She
loved to brag about her 23 grandchildren,
which is now 26. We are all going to miss her
sense of humour, smile and infectious laugh.
We would like to thank the staff of Kin
Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank for
taking care of Juliette.
A family service will be held Monday,
September 14, 2020, at Cropo Funeral Chapel

EDWARD PAUL SINKARSON
Born: April 4, 1931
Date of Passing: September 6, 2020
Peacefully, after a full life, was called
Home on September 6, 2020. Remaining to
forever cherish his memory are his
daughters, Debra and Joanne (Loren Dyck);
son Brian (Naomi); grandchildren, Laura
(Justin Thomas), David, and Christen; and
great-granddaughters, Allison Thomas and
Kayleigh Thomas. He was predeceased by his
wife Anne of 53 years in 2010.
Ed, the youngest of eight children, was
born in Arnes, MB. It was here on the family
farm that he developed his strong work ethic.
From cutting wood to fixing machinery, Ed
quickly developed the skills he would use
later in life. However, farm life was not all
hard work. Ed took time to enjoy dancing, and
so it would make sense that he would meet his
future wife at Fraserwood Hall. A year after
their vows were exchanged, he convinced his
new bride to move to Toronto where he would
start Canadian Crane Rentals with his brother
Louis. The business grew from a single crane
to several in a short time and was credited
with the crane work in the construction of
The Toronto City Hall, one of the city’s most
distinctive landmarks.
Nine years later he and Anne would return
to Winnipeg with three children and he would
continue his career as a heavy equipment
operator. As the years passed and as his
children moved away from home, Ed once
again had the desire to go into business for
himself, this time as a custom home builder.
After tough times fell upon the housing
industry, Ed once again turned to
construction work. As a highly skilled
operator, he often ran equipment that no one
else would or could. He loved the older
machinery such as Draglines, also known as
dirty circle work, which earned him the
nickname "DC Outlaw". His final years in
construction were spent with Nelson River
and Kraft Construction.
Ed also kept busy with hobbies. He could
often be found building something, however,
his true passion was writing. He was
accomplished in both the field of music and
poetry. One of the songs he wrote titled
"Lynda Morann" received airplay Canada-
wide on country music stations. More
recently, his poem "Gimli" took first place at
the Icelandic Festival in Gimli. His
submission was recognized as far away as
Iceland. To his grandchildren he was always
known as "Papa Ed". He dearly loved the time
he was able to spend with them.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and
staff at River Park Gardens for their
outstanding care in the three years that Ed
was with them and for their compassion in
the final days of his life. The funeral service
will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020,
at 10:00 a.m. at Springs Church, 595
Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at
All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main Street.
Pallbearers will be Brian Sinkarsin, David
Sinkarsin, Shawn Luky and Jesse Michalski.
Honorary pallbearer will be Debra Sinkarsin.
Due to COVID19, attendance numbers are
restricted. Please RSVP Naomi Sinkarsin at

provided to those that cannot attend.

It is with heavy hearts we announce that
Evelyn passed away peacefully in Comox,
British Columbia at the age of 65.
She will be dearly missed by her loving

Evelyn was a beautiful soul, a kind, loving,
caring person, always there to help everyone.
She chose hair dressing as an early
profession, with her artistic and creative
abilities when she retired, she began making
beautiful Reborn dolls. Evelyn had a great
sense of humour and style and was kind-
hearted, what gave her the most joy was
spending time with family. She lived in many
places due to being brought up as a Military
brat, as well as Military spouse, her happy
place was with Tim and their three dogs in
the back yard which she referred to as her
park. She enjoyed her park even more when

staff in Comox, BC for their compassion and
superior caregiving.

THEODORE (TED) TOUFANIDIS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of our father Theodore (Ted)
Toufanidis on September 3, 2020, at 58 years
of age.
Left to cherish his memory is loving
daughter Victoria and son Nicholas; and
former wife Patty; along with many aunts,
uncles and cousins across North America and
Greece. He was predeceased by his parents,
Nick and Voula; and brother Jimmy.
Ted was born May 15, 1962, in Winnipeg,
MB. Growing up in River Heights his parents
worked extremely hard to give him and his
brother a better life than what they had. This
is where he developed many lifelong
friendships that he cherished deeply. He
loved sports whether it was watching them or
playing them, hockey in particular. Ted also
enjoyed spending his time reading and
learning about business and world issues. Ted
was gifted with a brilliant mind and a big
heart, with this he would kindly share his
knowledge and help close peers. He obtained
a bachelor degree at University of Manitoba,
leading him to McGill University to
accomplish receiving a master’s degree.
He loved spending time with his children
and attending their recreational activities. He
would support them in everything that they
did as best as he could. Although he was
fighting to overcome obstacles in life, Ted
was known for his high intelligence and nice
guy nature that touched many people.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday,
September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios
Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave.
Interment to follow at Waverley Memorial
Gardens.
